Goal

Providing an opportunity for graduate students to present their research to their colleagues in the School of Computing, and interested audience from Queen’s, interacting with them and possibly pursuing cross-domain research. As the conference grows, invitations would be extended to researchers from other Canadian institutes and industry representatives to enrich the technical experience of our graduate students.

By opening registration to the undergraduate students of the School of Computing, and hosting a Programming Competition in which they are allowed to compete, we also aim to promote the field of research in Computer Science, hoping to draw new students to Graduate Studies at Queen’s.

In addition, the introduction of the Programming Competition also serves as a great way to create an interaction between groups of students who may not interact on a regular basis. Our goal in this is not only to crown a winning team, but to develop bonds between competitors that will hopefully extend beyond the conference weekend.
